Benchmark UT2004

How do you set up a botmatch benchmark in UT2004 so I can test the stability of my Video Card OC? Thanks for the help.

I started a thread on this exact thing over in Software/Games the other day...got very little help. 🙁

There is a built-in benchmark, but I don't think it's working right on my rig.

Go the the folder where UT is installed. Go to the System folder. You'll see an icon called Benchmark. That's it. Click it.

The best way of testing your video card IMHO is to use an artifact scanner like ATITool or rthdribl, while running an instance of prime95. This ensures your computer is at its maximum temperature, so if it passes that test it won't fail in anything else. Using a game to look for artifacts has a couple limitations; first off, there's a possibility you'll play a more demanding game that will show artifacts even when your current benchmarking game doesn't, and second, you won't notice some of the near-invisible artifacts. This may be OK for some people, but I think that if your card shows any artifacts whatsoever it's a sign you're too close to the edge.

Um, i got a zip file with a whole bunch of botmatch batch files, is that what youre looking for?? This worked for the ut2k4 demo, dunno about the final version, i could AIM it to you if thats what ure lookin for.

There is the FS Custom Demo, but they won't give it away. Here is what they told me.
Robvia: you can record your own UT2K4 demo. The
command is "record". Then to play it
back in timedemo mode, type "demoplay
[robvia's demo]?timedemo"

I agree, there should be a "standard"
demo everyone can compare to, but if we were to do
that we risk IHVs optimizing for our demos.

Haven't tried it yet. Basacially, I just play online, and type STAT FPS into the console, then I eyeball the average FPS and I'm playing and get an idea of where I'm at.
