Benchmark for new Bioshock

I just got my new card so I'm pumped to see how it goes especially compared to my old card. I got the asus TOP 7970. I ran the benchmark and got a combined avg of 59.something FPS on the 2 option (ultra with everything enabled at 1920x1200)

What did you get?

I got an older i975x, 12gb 13333, and an SSD. (And the 7970)

Keen to see if there is much difference between brands and models on this game.

He should not be CPU bound with that chip. My guess is that he has vsync on, as mentioned above.

Runs absolutely smooth 60FPS non stop for me maxed at 1440p

EXCEPT occasional stutters from maxing 2GB vram :/

Yeah, the really high quality textures suck up vram like crazy. One of the reviewers I watch had a big complaint because the game had performance issues. We had to point out that his GTX680 was running out of VRAM. He then updated saying that yes, he was running out and the jerking was from the textures being flushed and new ones loaded. Does not affect 3GB and 4GB cards.

I wonder how much vram it actually needs for 1440, at 1080p I see over 2.3GB, but using and needing are two different things and AMD and Nvidia handle frame buffer differently.

I'm cpu limited with my i3 in the benchmark /🙁\ - Haswell soon though \🙂/

cpu matters the the first area (reflections), not so much in the second or for the most part during the actual game.

First area though, the start and after the stairs is pretty brutal on my i3-540 (3.8GHz right now).
