Stein in early 2008 gave a speech that wasn't just wrong on the coming crash, like many were, but was sarcastically mocking those who warned of it.

Never heard a word of contrition or apology from him for steering people to stay in the market, unlike many who admitted their error.

But he did show up on Dr. Phil after the crash as a 'financial expert' to offer advice.
