judging from the errie glow of fire here in OT visible all the way from the "technical support" forum I'd guess not. but who knows, there are probably some sane people hiding in the woodwork

He is my favorite musician. Just brilliant. I hope if you haven't expirenced his music yet, that you get the chance to.

My buddy went to his concert in Salt Lake a few years back. He told me that once Ben Harper got onstage, the smoke went up and was THICK... You didn't even need your own stuff! Thick and purple?

EDIT - I do like him myself. Have a few songs here on my PC even.

He's the guy that always pops on stage with Pearl Jam right? ...& the innocent criminals? I have a concert or two of him here. Good music.

A few of his songs are decent. I've seen him in concert twice (one of those times was at JazzFest in New Orleans). Regardless, I wouldn't put him anywhere near my "favorites" list. You should definitely have soem copies of his CD's around if you're wanting to bed some hippy-wanna-be chicks.

Ben Harper is great. One of my favorite artists, if you get the new Pearl Jam concert DVD he is a special guest and does a few tunes.

I've only seen him cover Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" in the excellent documentary Standing In the Shadows of Motown. Can't say I was very impressed--IMO the performance seemed a little forced/contrived.

I will admit I am partially biased due to the classic rendition to which his must be compared.

I like him and most of his songs, sometimes I just wonder what the hell he is thinking.

Most of the time I enjoy listening to him though.
