Ben Folds - Still Fighting It

Everybody knows it sucks to grow up,
And everybody does.

It's so weird to be back here,
And let me tell you what:
The years go on,
And we're still fighting it,
We're still fighting it.

Ben Folds fans would do well to check out Ben's latest EP called "Speed Graphic"... fantastic all around (he covers The Cure's "In Between Days"!). My favorite song is "Give Judy My Notice". He's going to release several more EPs of new material this year and collecting them all on an LP next year.

Stupid question for a musician to ask: What exactly is EP vs LP?

I think EP is a short CD with only 3-5 songs on it. An LP is a full album.

They're just two different recording "paradigms". It hearkens back to vinyl days.
Here's a good history.

Absolutely not a DMB clone. He's a pianist, so moreso an Elton John or Billy Joel clone. ;)

Just kidding, I think he's quite original. He's done work originally with the group "Ben Folds Five" and most recently released some solo material (although still with backing instruments).

Not everyone's cup'o'tea but I think he's worth checking out for sure.

Nah, it's great stuff. I've been a big fan of his for a number of years (and even got to meet him once!). Check out "One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces", still my favorite tune of his I think.

They broke up years ago. He's been doing solo stuff for a few years now.

That's what I was wondering. Eh, either way I was very impressed with their first cd even though it wasn't exactly my kind of music. Very good though.
