You're crazy, Ben Folds Five is a great band. They actualy started out about an hour away from where I live, too bad I never got to see them play. As to what songs to check out, I have the albums Whatever and Ever Amen and The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner, and there isn't a song that I don't enjoy on either of those.
Something to keep in mind, the band broke up and asking for recomendations for "Ben Folds" could get you just that as he is a solo artist now.

Ben plays a wicked solo sarcastic piano. ;)

The other two band members (there were three members in Ben Folds Five) played bass & drums. They were very good, but broke up ~2 years ago. Now it's just the solo members.

They are not a one hit wonder, whether you like them or not.

I actually bought their album way, way, way back when Brick first came out. They also have a song called "Evaporated" which is the same tempo as Brick. Another song they have is sqrt(Kate). The square root of Kate. Plus, who doesn't get curious to hear a song called "One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces.."

get yourself a copy of their first record, self-titled, on Caroline Records. Really good stuff, especially Alice Childress and Uncle Walter and The Last Polka.

I didn't think I much cared for ben folds.. but for lack of interest in choosin' what I'm listenin' to right now I'm listenin' to musicmatch's artist match stuff for jason mraz and it just served me "eddie walker" by ben folds (I don't recall if he was with his five or not).. and I liked that.

hmm. maybe it's ben harper I don't care for..
