But, to get into med school, you can't be a complete idiot - there are required math courses, required science courses, etc.

True intelligence is something else entirely and does not always parallel basic academic achievement. Too much emphasis is placed on route memorization and rehashing practiced information.

Med school just means you can memorize things and bring them back well.

Some of the most crazy people I have ever meet have been doctors, medical. Went out with some pre-med and early med girls and many were airheads but could remember anything you throw at them.

I can only hope Carson wins the nomination . . . and that then I hosted a satirical talk show. :p

Book this, though: Despite where things stand now, Jeb! will be the nominee.

Oh damn that's right!

When the Egyptians built the pyramids they immediately got a free granary in every village, with no upkeep.

And those idiots in the lieberal media are suggesting that Carson meant they put grain in the pyramids. What sort of dope would say that?

Just like Cruz said, biased msm just out to make conservatives look bad.

I'm still thinking that Rubio will win the nomination. I'm hoping that Trump and Carson disappear after New Hampshire.

I kinda hated that side effect in Civ, since it caused my city populations to grow out of control. I ended up spending a small fortune on maintaining temples and coliseums before I had the mine output to properly pay for them.

I used them to mine forests/hills, build lots of settlers/workers and expand quickly, but I didn't play on the hardest difficulty levels, so I didn't get too killed by the unhappiness.

I did make the wonder a priority, but it wasn't my highest, but def a plus when I got it.

The pyramids being built to store grain is a very plausible theory. I dont even see why anyone would be "offended" by such a theory. It's not like it is terribly radical or upsetting of too many applecarts. It is a theory rooted in praticality. Especially given that those structures were built in an era of alternating extreme abundance and mass starvation. The pyramidal structure is very strong, it can withstand heavy sieging and erosion. It makes a lot of sense to build such a structure to store one of most valuable commodities those civilizations had to offer.

Somebody posted a food pyramid for some silly reason. But it brings up a point that what we think we know is often plain wrong. The classical food pyramid is very wrong. Humans arent meant to be consuming mostly starches and other highly processed fast carbohydrates. Bread may have been around for thousands of years but for most of that time it was consumed along with lard heavy stews containing lots of animal fat and at least some meat. These starches are nearly identical to sugar in terms of matabolization and impact on the pancreas, liver, diabetes, and overall health decline. Humans should be getting the majority of their calories from animal fats and green fibrous vegetables, not starches.

No, it's not plausible. There's so many different ways to build stone 'containers' for grain that wouldn't involve something as perfect and complicated as a pyramid. There's zero chance a people intelligent enough to design and build those pyramids would have used it for 'grain'.

Seriously the movie stargate is more plausible than Dr Carson although both are pretty far fetched.

You know we have in their own words why they built them right? It's plausible. It's also stupidity.

Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

I cannot comprehend how that guy was actually a brain surgeon.

Is there really a record of him actually getting a medical degree?
I've taken many college and graduate level courses with pre-med and medical students. A good many of the medical students are hyper-driven memory bots.

Just because they are great at memorizing and regurgitating doesn't mean that they are actually intelligent or rational.
The same can be said for graduate students of course.

This shows just how CRAZY old Ben is.
In an election for 2016, he's talking about pyramids, Egyptian grain silos, the old testament, pharaoh's, and biblical Joseph.
Just the stuff evangelical Christians LOVE to hear about.
And the one single thing important to them.
What a schmuck!

I knew he was a nutter, but never realized it was 7th Day Adventist Nutter....

:hmm: wait, he's a surgeon.

So ah, how does he handle the whole blood transfusion thing? Wouldn't he be immorally blocking access for his patients just in performing his practice in some cases? ...Or is that how he insures he still has a spot open in the 400,000 seat arena that is Heaven?

Either way, what a jerk.

Blood Transfusions are a Jehovahs Witnesses thing. Seventh Day Adventists are the Church on Saturday(Jewish Sabbath) people.

I thought they were always the same group--just one was the more, uh, "professional name"?

Like: Latter Day Saints:Mormons ::7th Day Adventists:Jehova's Witnesses?

:hmm:

Nope, all different. Most Protestant/Evangelicals consider them Cults, but they are quite independent of each other.
