What's with men's belts being so flimsy? Specifically, the ones with the two little screws attatching the buckle to the belt. Those screws are always too short, and always get dislodged frequently. Is this some sort of intentional trick to get people to buy more belts, or am I really supposed to be tightening those screws frequently to prevent them from falling out randomly?

The ones without screws seem better, although I have no idea what magic is involved in keeping the buckle attached.

I've never had this happen.

Maybe you need to buy a bigger belt?

1. Where the hell are you buying belts?
2. What belts have screws?
3. How big are you? (Not being mean)

Sounds like you belly is more powerful than the belts you buy. Pony up for a quality belt, buy one your size, or step away from the donuts.

I've bought them at marshall fields, wilson leather, and boston store. About half the belt styles have the little screws, and these are always the ones that have the problem.

I'm somewhat overweight now, not like comic book guy from simpsons or anything; but I don't wear the belts tight or anything (often way too lose because tight belts tend to cause acid reflux).

Er... my belt notch is halfway in the middle of the belt. How would that help?

Suspenders on khakis with a polo shirt look pretty ridiculous last time I checked.

How do you attach metal to leather with stitches?

Like THIS.

Yeah that's what I meant by the other type. I will obviously only be purchasing those types from now on, but I don't understand what's going on with the type with screws.

Are they screws or rivets? I never owned a belt that had screws in it. I could see how they would work loose.

Kind of in between a rivet and a screw. Near the top the screw is threaded and near the bottom it's flat like a rivet. They always have a slot for seemingly a flat head screwdriver and the holes themselves have a small amount of screw threading.

It might be just reversible belts. I haven't examined the issue that closely, but even if so it seems odd to me.
