Multipe threat detection > Threat direction indication
Valid point but its a tough call betwen them ... Valantine one is more sensitive but does give more false-alarms as a direct result, no doubt that these are 1 & 2 though whichever you prefer.
Doesn't the Valentine also "track" multiple signals?
I mean the Escort radar bascially goes blip blip blip.
The Valentine One goes blip, shows how many signals it is detecting, and also shows the direction of the "strongest" signal.
Both are great radars, but for detection the X50 is the best so far.
That's a big o'le negative. The x50 will track using 8 separate vertical signal stregnth bars the stregnths of different threats around you. Without multiple threat detection, I'd imagine you'd be fuxxored when you mute your radar b/c you're picking up a home depot and THEN a cop shoots at you.
A measure of a good radar detector isn't "how often it falses" but rather how much and the kind of information it gives you. A cop shooting "always on" radar should be easily detectable from almost 2 miles away with the x50 while falses such as automated doors have much shorter ranges (<1000 feet).
Individual threat tracking is clutch, especially where I live in the suburbs of Philly. There is often a white noise of various falses, but being able to look up at my radar detector and get the information I need about the kinds of bands I'm reading, how the stregnth is changing relative to my vehicle speed, etc.... those measurements are priceless.
I have it hardwired above my rearview mirror to my fog lamp switch (I dont have the lamps, just bought the switch) and it gets power from the convertable top circuit (which I also don't have) so it turns on and off with the car and the fog lamp switch overrides it. I can't imagine having done it any other way. The cords are such a PITA...
