I was thinking about getting there regular internet service for now and then get there Highspeed when it's available in my area.

Are there connections good?
How about there service?

If they arent that great maybe i should just sign with a local provider.

Any thoughts?

I have MTS Sympatico (the Manitoba version of Sympatico), and its just fine. they just went unlimited too for 56K dialup, so I no longer have to worry bout connect time...

We have Bell Advantage High Speed Internet for business...basically the Sympatico High Speed edition at a higher price for business. The connection is unlimited usage, however they disconnect the line on average once a day. This isn't a problem as I've programmed a perl script to detect the network outages and reconnect, but it's still annoying. I've got @Home cable at home. The DSL service from Bell seems to have lower latency (low pings) but maxes out at 100KB/s (~800Kb/s). The cable modem has higher latency (higher pings) but maxes out at 600KB/s (4800Kb/s) on a good connection.

Bell had a really difficult time getting the service installed...it took them more than a week longer than they told us it would take, but now everything seems fine.
