I know the Belkin Model: F5D92304 was top-rated by Tom's hardware. Does anyone have any experience with it?

Here's my problem- have a modified Asus Z33a laptop (portableone UX) with Intel's 2915 wireless card. After updating the drivers and disabling the power saving polling feature it connects great in my daughter's school environment. Currently we have a D-Link 624 router both at home and in her apt. and in both locations her wireless frequently disconnects. Other laptops running at the same time stay connected. I am thinking that perhaps the router and the wireless card "don't like each other". Initially she had the disconnect problems at school too, but updating the drivers, tweaking the firewall and a few other things fixed the problem connecting to the school network and it is better at home but the disconnects are still problematic.

Anyone with experience with the Intel cards and changing routers- does it help?
Thanks

I have the 8230 model and love it. I would guess that the next model would be just as good if not better. I use a Dell XPS Gen2 laptop with it no problem. Mainly got it for my daughter's desktop pc on the other side of the house. I used the Belkin PreN wireless card in her desktop. The router itself is reasonably priced. The wireless card is kinda pricey though I thought. Works great though.

Link to thread I started about it some time ago. If you are interested.

If you want significant benefit from the MIMO, you need the matching Wireless Client as well.

Thanks...when you say "significant benefit" are you referring to the speed increases (which I realize you need the matching wireless card for as well)? I am not concerned about speed increases but I am concerned about maintaining connectivity

how is the signal? do the disconnects occur even if the laptop is right next to the AP?

The signal strength seems good when it is connected.
My daughter had even tried moving the AP in her apt. to see if that made a difference and it didn't. Since it is happening with the same brand router in 2 different homes but is fine with the school wireless and the home wireless is fine with other laptops, I am assuming that for some reason her Intel 2915 card is not happy with the D-link 624 router...looking for a router that isn't necessarily faster but is more stable.
