belkin wireles g router

The thing works fine, dloading with azures and browsing web on main pc, while the woman browses web on her lappy.

Every once in a while it will not let me browse the web on main wired pc or on wireless lappy, but it is still dloading with azures. When I shut off the azures the browser works fine again. When I turn azures back on the browsers quit working.:disgust:

If I disconect the router for a while and then hook it back up it will work fine for a week or two.

Whats going on here?

my belkin router doesnt like handling hundreds of connections. I can easily overload it by using BT with multiple downloads. At that point, initiating another connection (ex. internet explorer) becomes a hit-and-miss proposition.

I have a belkin router aswell and use azureus. I've found it works best to limit the global connections to 25 in the options to avoid crashing the router.

So is this what is happening, the router is crashing?

Can I hook up my wired router for wired pc's, then hook the wireless belkin to the wired router, just for the lappy?

Yea, or the state table is full or something. It would probably be able to clear the jam itself given time, but restarting clears it immediately. Keep in mind consumer router hardware is not made to take the kind of traffic bittorrent generates, so there is nothing wrong with your unit specifically.

Not much point, the wired router would then have to handle all connections to the internet... is it any better than the wireless one? Do you have QoS on either of them? If so, you could prioritise HTTP over BT.

It is just that the wired router never had this problem. Even though it had the same load on it, used to run the lappy on wire, used it for a couple years. Also have one other pc hooked to it, thats the kids, its just for playing games against me.

Yeah I wouldn't buy a belkin router again as mine is kind of flakey, although it's my 3rd SOHO router and none have been perfect. Atheus is right these things just aren't that great. I suggest you limit the global BT connections and see if there's a newer firmware you could use.

I use the router wires only as the wireless just didn't work at all lol

Well I solved the problem for now, I am just using the wired router and have the garbage belkin wirles router running off of it. This will work till I can afford a new wireless router!
