Anyone have a belkin UPS that can lend me a hand.

I got a F6C525-SER UPS and I can't get the software to communicate with the device. I followed the instructions on the quick setup guide:
Plugged in the UPS, Attached serial cable to PC and installed Monitor software. When I power up the device and let windows detect it, it just asks for a driver but there is none with the software nor can windows find one online.

Any ideas?

Any ideas? I'm not getting a response back from Belkin support either.

There should be a driver on the CD that came with the UPS, but its a pain to find.. you will most likely have to find the XP .inf file on the CD manually by selecting "do not search, choose driver from list" when installing & then install the Belkin Bulldog monitering software to control it.

First mistake is buying Belkin. But that having been made, normal RS-232 serial port communications should need no driver. Just adjust your serial port to the speed called for in the UPS manual (via Device Manager in Win) and your UPS monitoring and control software should be able to handle it from there. If the instructions aren't in the UPS manual, then Capt may have the scoop for you.

For whatever reason, the Belkin 1200va ups I have doesn't work with XP's built in monitering service which is the only reason I suggested installing Belkin's monitering software.. it also simply refuses to work with a usb connection, however once I manually installed the driver the RS232 serial port works ok without any speed adjustments.

Frankly I've had much better luck with APC ups's myself hardware-wise, but their Powerchute software is total crap ... at least they are compatible with XP's built in support though so you arn't forced to install it.
