Belkin TetraHub T4 technology hub, why discontinued?

I have a Belkin TetraHub which I think is a brilliant idea, but they stopped making it for some reason.

Feature: LED monitor for each port shows by color whether it is operating in 1.5Mbps (low), 11Mbps(full) or 480Mbps(2.0). It also gives each of four ports 11Mbps if USB1.1 devices are connected. Traditional USB2.0 would only provide a sum of 11Mbps across all ports in USB1.1 mode.

Does it simply not work as well as they say or why did they stop making it?

It's not like there aren't any other hubs that do individual port speeds - in fact, you'll be hard pressed to find one today that doesn't.

So except for the blinkenlights 😉 you'll be fine with any other hub.

If you have a Target store near you, they have a Belkin 7 Port Powered Hub
#F5U259 for $29.99 .. a very good price for a 7 port USB 2.0 hub
