My wife's laptop frequently disconnects from our wireless G network (Belkin F5D72304 router, with Belkin wireless G card), but when I check my laptop and our wired servers they are fine. Getting it reconnected is difficult... standard troubleshooting like disabling/re-enabling the wireless connection don't work; I pretty much have to shut down her laptop and reset the router - pain since it is upstairs across the house.
I think I've narrowed it down to the fact that the router isn't recognizing that her NIC has disconnected. The Belkin config program still shows her as being connected with 192.168.0.4 IP address, even though IP config on her system shows 0.0.0.0. I've let it sit for an hour and it still won't reconnect. I'm guessing that the router is not allowing her MAC address to connect b/c it thinks it is already connected.
Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this ? I checked to ensure I'm at the latest router firmware and NIC drivers.
