Belkin Pre-N

I recently received a Belkin Pre N router and laptop card. So far results are quite good.
My range has inproved about 75%. Transmit quality is very good. Has not drop below 108mps.

My previos router was a Linksys 802.11G with Speedbooster. This is also a top quality
router with upgradeable frmware.

I got my Belkin router and adapter for free from Belkin. I don't think I would have spent the extra cash to upgrade to Pre N. I was very happy with my Linksys.

Another thing to keep in mind is the Belkin Pre N is just that. Pre N is not here yet any will not be around for about a year. And the Pre N may not even be upgradeable to N.

I would recommend sticking with routers like Linksys for now and consider upgrading once N rolls out towards the end of this year or early next.

Feel free to PM me with any other qoestions. I will try to answer them.

I too agree with apinkus, don't change if you don't need the increased throughput or range. If you really need the range, the Belkin is awesome for extended range for existing products. Even with old 11a/b/g products, coverage is doubled what a standard Linksys WRT54G would do. If you use their client, you'll get 40 mbps for close/medium range.

Another solution you might want to consider is the WRT54Gx, which is also Pre-N, but utilizes BG but also increases range.
