Belkin Pre-n Router Problem

I use a Belkin Pre-n Router and when I play online games the images skips/jumps every few seconds and it's very annoying. When I disconnect the router and plug straight into my cable modem the problem vanishes. Is there anything I can do short of exchanging it?
