Ok I have been checking this item out and have considered purchasing it but I just don't get it. This thing is driving me nuts. I see the ports to plug the KVM into the computers but where do I plug my USB mouse into the KVM?

I have some pics of what I'm talking about here and here.

I have my usb mouse going through a converter to PS2. You might have to do the same.... :(

I wish they woudl make KVMS that support USB keyboard and mice(That I can afford, I haven't seen any that support them yet, though)

Belkin is coming out with a USB in/out switch in the SOHO series, but it's not released yet. Look at the bottom of the SOHO product page.

The current belkin USB KVMs do not allow you to use a USB keyboard or mouse.

Go figure.

They may save you a few buck on cables though.

I researched KVMs a lot before purchasing my belkin and at the time I decided against USB as Belkins implementation is whaked and I had read a bad review or two about the IOGEAR/Alten USB options (they are more like a USB hub shared between computers, which in theory is fine but can cause problems).

As an owner of an "E" series belkin, I doubt I would go with a belkin "E" series or SOHO series again.

The darn box beeps very loudly when I switch computers (annoying in my family room) and once in a while I "loose" the mouse.

I followed their recomendations and went back to generic 98 drivers for my intellimouse exporer, lost most of the features I payed extra for, things are better but I still loose the mouse or even the keyboard; rebooting is the only cure.

Im getting a KVM switch next week and i went to compUSA. The Belkin OmniView is so expensive compared to the Linksys brand. Is there a reason for that?

The belkin E-Series 2 port can be found for as low as $55

2 Port E series

Cheap cables will run you $8, good ones up to $20.

The linksys can be a real bargain as some models come with cables
