Belkin KVM and keyboard repeat rate

I have a Belkin 2-port E-Series Omniview KVM and a generic keyboard hooked to it. I am having an issue with the repeat rate being reset to a slow whenever I switch back and forth between the 2 computers. If I open the keyboard settings, it goes back to being fast, but when I'm trying to switch repeatedly, this becomes a nuisance. I thought that keyboard and mouse emulation (which this KVM supports) would keep this from happening. Is there a way to fix this?
