I have great problems with my Cardbus LAN interface that I can't seem to solve.
I have a Gericom Masterpiece notebook, whose built-in ethernet adapter is broken, so I bought a Belkin F5D5010 cardbus ethernet card ( http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductP...process?Merchant_Id=&Product_Id=107564 ).
I have an ADSL line with a modem and a D-Link DI-604 router: http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=3&pid=62
The modem and the router are turned on all the time and I have a permanent connection to the internet. The ADSL modem is hooked up to the router, to which the cardbus ethernet card is connected.
Whenever I want to establish a connection with my notebook, I always have to reset the modem, otherwise the cardbus ethernet card doesn't detect the connection. After I reset the modem, everything works fine.
This happens whenever I start up the notebook, reset it, go into stand-by mode or unplug the network cable. The sad part is that I don't have access to the room where the modem is located, so I can rarely reset it.
I didn't have these problems with my original built-in ethernet adapter (which is now broken) and if my notebook is connected to my Sagem F@st 3344 gateway with a dial-up ADSL connection (at another house) or to another computer (crossover cable), these problems do not occur.
Thanks everyone in advance.
