Belkin CAT 5e Cable= :(

So I'm online, then internet suddenly stops. Ethernet light on the network adapter still lit. Re-boot the machine. No light on the adapter at all. try re-plugging the ethernet cable, no go. Try another cable, it works fine! WTF! (the cable that went out was 5 day old, Belkin Cat 5e, 25'). So OK, the cable must be defective or shorted out or something, so I try it one more time to be sure. The adapter lights back up, but the internet still does not work. Tried cable in another comp, same.

What is a Good brand CAT 5 or 5e cable?

Make your own. I either make my own (when long runs are needed) or I buy from the dorms on campus. They offer 14ft and 25ft cables extremely cheap.

take it back and get a replacement

ANY CAT5 cable should work, that one's just f00bared

Would you believe Belkin cable is actually very good quality,your cable is faulty ,could be many reasons for this, it`s very rare but not impossible,like getting a top brand motherboard or HD and finding out it`s defective,btw I`m using 50ft of Belkin CAT5e cable and my brother has another 15ft as well ,both are solid on stability,remember in the computer world nothing is RMA or faulty proof.

That is actually why I selected this cable originally. Just glad it did not short out my ethernet port or something in the process, lol. 😉
 
Belkin cables come with a lifetime warranty. It says so on the back of the box.
Just take it back to where you bought it or contact Belkin for a replacement.
