Well I hope you like my first "hot deal" post. Actually it a decent price from a quality vendor, CDW. Here is the information, the PC card at CDW is $64.99 and there is a $25.00 rebate on the card. So final price is $39.99

CDW Belkin NIC

CDW Rebate form

The also have the wireless router/gateway for $129.99 after rebate. No great special here on pricing for the router/Gateway but if your want to save on shipping cost you could bundle one with the NIC.

Rwalter63,

Can you provide a link to this gateway please? I just checked the website and only found three routers. None of them had rebates. Thanks.

[edit] Never mind, I think according to this support link, the chipset is by Intersil.[/edit]

The Belkin PC CARD uses the Intersil Prism 2 Chipset.
The Belkin USB Card uses something other than Lucent, Cisco, or Intersil. :)

At this time, if I were buying a PCMCIA card, and wanted the best performance:

1) Cisco 340/350
2) Lucent Orinoco Chipset (IBM, Lucent, or HP)
3) 3COM x-jack
4) Everybody else

I know there are some new designs coming out soon, that will end up at the top. The sensativity of the chipset in the new design will blow away any Intersil or Lucent design.

Hope this helps.
