Belkin 1000VA noises

I got a 1000VA UPS for my computer. I noticed that when i hooked it up to the wall after about 3 or so hours the battery was completely drained. So i hooked it back up to another jack and while it was charging it was ocasionally make a poping noise (like it was a steam bubble popping) anyidea what this is?

I try to warn people against buying Belkin but I guess it's worth another shot here: Belkin's sole reason for existance is to help the big box stores make a profit. IOW, profit margin for the stores is the TOP consideration. Leave Belkin to the rubes.
. But it could be a charging relay or it could be the gelled electrolyte boiling from overcharging and popping the escape vent - open it up and find out if you dare... Just be aware that hydrogen can explode at the right H/O ratio! :shocked:

Call Belkin and see if they can offer a rational explanation. If you aren't comfortable with what you hear, RMA it...
