Well my computer is 2 1/2 months old. And today i started having problems with my video games and stuff freezing. I have a Thermaltake 480 Watt PSU. 18A on 12 Volt, 30A 3volt and 40A on the 5 volt. My volt seem awful like 3 to 3.1 volts on the 3.3 and 11.2-11.5 volts or so on the 12 volt. Anyways I figure its time to buy a good power supply, any recommendations?

I thought about an antec 500 but its alot of money for one of those. Any other ideas?

Personally i like the seasonic Super tornado 400. You can read about the 300W version at www.silentpcreview.com. They also have other recommendations.

I own an antec trueblue 480 and its rock solid. Only complaint is that its a bit noisy.

Enermax makes great supplies as well. I have a Whisper 350 from at least 3 years back and its doing fine. Again, a bit on the noisy side...

So i went into my bios and the 12 volt rail is more like 11.9 which isn't bad. But my 3.3 volt rail is still like 3.1 or so. is that too low. Thats a bit over the 5% mark i think? What do you guys think

Well ... this is comforting to read, being that I have the same PSU. Anyhoo, if I had that particular decision to make over again, I'd make the investment, and spend whatever it takes to get excellent power. I would personally either get the OCZ powerstream 520 or the Antec NeoPower 480. The NeoPower has an excellent feature whereby you can unplug cables that are not in use from the main unit, thus freeing up space in your case and removing the large tangle of excess wires that people normally battle. Patent pending (no joke!)

yeah I would definitely go for the OCZ powerstream also, their 520W flavor can get up to 600+ watts :D
