Belarc Advisor reporting Norton AV when it isn't there

Belarc Advisor 7.2v, which I like very much as a total system report, is showing the following

Norton AntiVirus 2006 Version 2005
Realtime File Scanning On
ESET NOD32 antivirus system 2.70 Version 2.70
Realtime File Scanning On

as the running antivirus programs. I have no software by Norton on the system since I consider the Symantec software as worse than a virus. I have searched the registry with every term I can think of using regedit, jv16 Power Tools, etc. with no hits. Clearly there is a key someplace that Belarc Advisor is finding with a bit set that cause it to think

Norton AntiVirus 2006 Version 2005
Realtime File Scanning On

is active. I have run half a dozen registry cleaners trying to get rid of this key with no success.

Do any of you know where this flag is? I would prefer that Belarc Advisor report the actual state of my computer, even though I can ignore the erronous message.

You probably need to manually edit your registry. I had great help from amazingtechs.com Norton is a nasty thing to totally remove.

Thanks for the replies. I have removed (?) Norton Systemworks and Norton Antivirus from quite a few computers since so many people just automatically install one of those, so I know how hard it is to get rid of Symantec stuff once it is installed. That is why I said I consider it worse than a virus in many respects. The Norton removal tool does a rather incomplete cleanup too.

I am very comfortable working in the registry (I have a freqiently updated Acronis true image of the C drive and export the registry before I start editing it) so have manually searched for and removed anything having any term related to Norton, Symantec etc. I have also run at various times six different registry cleanup tools: Registry Healer, Regcure, Tuneup Utilities, CC Cleaner, jv16 Power Tools and Registry First Aid. Where ever the flag is hidden that Belarc is finding that tells it Norton AV is running, none of these extreme measures have found it. My guess is that Norton puts it in a file -- with perhaps a numbered name -- which the folks at Belarc knew to look for but which John Q. public does not, which is why I asked the question.

Thanks again for the help.
