It seems like something out of an episode of America's Stupidest Criminals.
According to police, Salvatore Capone, 41, was entertaining a friend at his home in the Jane St. and Sheppard Ave. W. area Tuesday night when an argument erupted over money and narcotics.
The friend produced a handgun and allegedly shot Capone in the groin. After delaying for some time, the victim decided to report the shooting to authorities.
When police and ambulance attendants arrived at Capone's home, they discovered a marijuana grow operation in the basement.
Capone was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital where he was treated for his injuries. The Emergency Task Force went to the home of the suspected shooter and arrested him.
Frank Drago, 47, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
Capone, 41, is in hospital receiving treatment and will remain under police custody.
He is charged with possession and producing marijuana.
