I saw this on PBS and it made me so mad. We do not have the money and resources to help our own kids and we are going to spend billion and billion to take care ILLEGALS (kids)? What the hell is wrong with this picture? o_O

RACIST.

Why do you hate those undocumented future democratic voters who are just trying to make a better life for themselves by running away from gang violence.

The only way to prevent poor kids from being poor is to have some kind of income test before you can consummate a child. I propose a minimum income of 90,000.

Please hold.

Your opinion is very important to the President.

But, at the moment, he is out fundraising.

He is dining with people that are paying tens of thousands of dollars for the opportunity.

If you want your poor kids to have a higher priority with the President, perhaps you should buy them a ticket for Obama's next fundraiser.

America is at a crossroads of poverty. Present actions will determine if we become a third world country. The first step is admitting we have a problem, a growing crisis on our hands. Examining poverty in America is a good first step.

Second step is knowing what to do about it. Focus on solutions.

Ship good paying, skill creating jobs out - get more poverty. It's pretty simple.

^ Never examine the reason why jobs leave. Just throw a decades long pity party and cry and whine about it.

Meanwhile, ship in millions more poor people. Scream racist at anyone who says that's a really dumb fucking idea. Cry and whine more about being even poorer.

Stomp feet and demand business pay high minimum wage.
Stomp feet and demand millions of illegal scab laborers allowed in so businesses have the automagic out of obeying NO laws including labor and wage laws. Never put the two together.

Whine about loss of high paying jobs and gaps between rich and poor... ignore all warnings about gap between skilled and intelligent vs. culture of total stupidity.

Keep electing the same numbskulls who make the same hollow promises, yet do nothing but fill the pockets of their donors, rack up record levels of new debt... send you the bill. Give you a speech about why its all great for you. Eat it up. Beg for more. Yell and scream at anyone who points out that's being a bootlicking toolbag.

Above all: Blame someone else. Keep the pity party rolling.

It's shocking how little common sense I read on this board. Thank you for sharing yours with us.

The other problem is the profit motive and inflation, both have created a vacuum that's only living purpose is to suck all of the money you make out of your accounts and give it to people that already have far too much as it is.

It's not the lack of Money or Resources that stops the US from dealing with its' Poverty problem. It's a lack of Will or even Care to do so.

Nothing new here, he'll also have a Presidential Library and do the same things ever President in history always has.

Secret Service protection for life, etc etc.

You're post is irrelevant.

On top of being years out of date.

In the meanwhile, we have folks like this guy that says it is ok to welcome ILLEGALS (kids) = http://dailycaller.com/2014/07/27/g...gal-children-mocks-supporters-of-deportation/#!

Will responded. “I think we ought to say to these children, ‘Welcome to America. You’re going to go to school and get a job and become Americans. We have 3,141 counties in this country. That’d be 20 per county.”

What ever happens to "charities begin at home" and take care of your own first? We have AMERICAN kids that are hungry and we have folks that say it is ok to spend money (in which we borrow) to take care other nations kids? <mind blows>

Why is our Government using and old outdated 1960 s method to calculate the actual poverty rate? Is this intentional to skew the real poverty rate amount? The article indicates that this outdated method doesnt account for things like expenses necessary to hold a job, transportation costs, or childcare to name a few. I wonder how many other old outdated methods they continue to use that are by design deceitful and not accurate to reflect current times.

I've watched the whole thing already. I've concluded that alot of the increasing poor has to do with the cash economy drying up. Online retailers vs B&M stores. But oh so much more. Small businesses drying up. No one buys stuff at flea markets as much anymore. No one really trades with friends or anything like that as much anymore. Everyone just heads to craigslist/ebay, you need to have decent experience with MS word to make a decent looking resume. They're out of the loop on where to find work, what kind of work is out there etc. etc.

No one hardly ever leaves the house anymore basically. And these people are stuck in like a 1970's mindset. Not blaming them however. Technology kinda sucks.

Yes would be the answer I guess, on the intentional thing and everything else.

Cause there's no sense of community anymore except in small towns... cause technology.
