Spent 12 hours in a lab today, got home around 9pm. Had just enough time to eat some dinner with the girlfriend and start a movie when the pager went off.

Left the house at 10:30, and now as of 1am I'm waiting on the results of my verification tests to find out if my repairs did the trick or if it needs more work.

Anybody else got and grueling work stories? Dunno how much longer I'll be on before I have to head back in to check my work.

I was up for 30hrs and have to work 10hrs and I felt f0cked. Had to drive 100mins each way at the end of 10hrs also. The aircon was turned off as it was on a bank holiday. That wasn't good! I haven't pulled an all night for years since leaving uni!

I was gonna do squats at the gym tomorrow, too. I think I'm gonna have to put them off a day so I can step up well-rested.

I've actually had later nights than this one in the past, but it was a straight shot, not a tantalizing taste of rest at home before being pulled away immediately after settling in. :(

The longest shift i have ever done is start at 7am thursday and got home friday 10pm, that was in a big police station changing a chilled water coil. Good overtime.

And the worst call out was on New Years eve, my gf and i had just sat down to eat a sea food dinner when my mobile phone (cell phone i think you Americans call it) rang. Lighting had struck a research building and every contactor had burnt out....

Mate, get your ass down the gym. You will feel better for it. It's just tough getting to the gym when your tired, but once you get down there and warm up you will feel in it :D

I actually feel asleep in the gym once. Near the end of my session I was doing sit ups and I laid back to rest and feel asleep for 5minutes LOL

I've done that before, feels like the best rest in the world.

And I've worked something like a 30~35 hour shift before on multiple occasions. Since I'm salaried though I can go home after a shift like that and stay home 2 days and catch up.

I dunno, having to provide 300 cops that have access to guns and are hot and sweaty, and are generally pissed off, can be intimidating
