LMAO ... my roommate and I picked epock because it was short, sweet and had a nice ring to it.

Only later did I start programming and realize the epoch!!!

Minor spelling mistake?

Son, that is a Major spelling CRIME.

Normally I consider Spelling and Grammar Nazis to suffer from some bizzare form of OCD. I guess you think you're some kind of goody two shoes, or some kind of overachiever, I'm thinking nobody really noticed?

Well, it was off by 1 letter.

I'm not sure where you got the goody two shoes/overachiever thing from, care to elaborate?

certain people would make fun of me for getting good grades, paying attention in class

Do I really have to elaborate, considering? ;)

Misspelling a name that an iconic representation of the Band itself is like the dictionary misspelling Lincoln's name.

if you right all of your posts with perfect grammar and double check with the chicago manual of style before posting, good for you. I don't really care.

but correcting other people's minor mistakes is just annoying and irritating, both on the forums and in real life. if I'm chatting with a friend or coworker and they make a minor mistake, I'm not going to derail the entire conversation to stop and correct them and put them down, because it's hella rude, no matter how correct you may be.

edit: the article linked in the OP seems like an underpaid (and now probably unemployed) copy editor slacking off on the job... criticizing someone for not doing or being bad at their job is something completely different.

Someone needs to clue her in that it's a game, not a standardized test.

You are what (and how) you post. If you get lazy, and stay lazy, and then think you can turn it back on when it counts, you will be in for a brutal surprise.

I'm not sure how a typo developes into a debate about what happenend in high school. But calling yourself smart and acting like a 'See I told you so' victim isn't going to sit well with anyone. People may get vindictive......like so:

Actually, it makes perfect sense. The people who designed the box are probably preppy 4.0'ers like you and would have no idea how to spell anything related to rock and roll correctly. Instead of jamming to the likes of 'Skynrd', you were busy memorizing worthless information like the periodic table and even worse; studying English. You're going to feel really stupid here in the next few years when the US switches to Spanish.
The worlds not going to end because of a typo, but as I also see society become more and more unprofessional it makes me wonder if the Beast will have to do a fast rebutle because some moron accidentally makes a typo in a memo sent to the world saying that they need to tatto 665 on their foreheads.....

Deep breaths my good sir, one foot in front of the other, underwear then pants, you'll make it.

While trying to appear large and in charge, you brutally misspelled "rebuttal", Chief . . . not to mention the fact you don't "do" a rebuttal, you "MAKE" or "present" one.

And . . . what the hell is a "tatto"?
