Being Harrased by a collection agency.

14 calls today.
And the person that they are looking for doesn't even live at our address.

I have posted about this before; they look for a certain person. I call them back and tell them the person they are looking for does not live at this address. Then the collection company sells off to another company and the process starts again.

Can't I make a complaint to like Phone Company or something?

Is it illegal for me to say.. "oh that person die in a car accident bye"

edit: just spoke to one of their representatives, they say they will remove the number. Couple of weeks process will start all over again.

They probably hear that all the time.

Tell them you have Dual SLI Geforce 7900 GTX 512 and yell "PWNED B!TCH".

I agree. No one likes to deal with a nutcase. Just act really crazy and use lots of profanity.

Tell them you are filing a bankruptcy and that your lawyer said they have to call him from now on. Give them random lawyer's phone number out of yellow pages.

Contact the police. 14 calls in one day could be considered a criminal level of harrassment. Also, tell the CSR that you want to speak to their supervisor because you are thinking of filing civil and criminal charges.

Section 806(5) prohibits contacting the consumer by telephone "repeatedly or continuously with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the called number."

1. Multiple phone calls. "Continuously" means making a series of telephone calls, one right after the other. "Repeatedly" means calling with excessive frequency under the circumstances.

Note: the above is not meant to be legal advice of any kind.
