Tillis voted against Trump, what a disobedient little man, and of course the bully took to his anti-social platform to use all the school yard insults in his little thumbs to attack him, and threatening to primary him.

So now Lara Trump the menaces DIL is making noise about running for his seat.

Life in America under the Trumps and their MAGAts is fucking exhausting.

Why do these people always just fucking run away? Imagine being bullied by a man like Trump, and calling yourself a man? If you're going out anyway go out with a bang! Change your affiliation to "Democrat" and hit all the late-night talk shows. Trump would lose his fucking mind. It would be glorious.

Now he's free to vote against Trump and FOR his constituents. But he won’t. That requires a spine.

Of course he did.

Hes also in that odd spot where as senator you have to represent your constituency as well as do whats best for your constituency.

What happens when your constituency demands you vote for whats bad for them?

What if your constituency demands you vote for whats bad for the country?

What of your own party demands you vote against your constituency and act in bad faith?

Kinda screwed.

Then you explain to them that Fox News and Trump are lying to them, and are not trying to do what is best for them. And sure if they don't want you anymore that is the name of the game.

That would be hilarious.

Kinda think it'll be Lara Trump though. Also fucking funny.

She'd probably be better off going after Rubio's old seat in FL in 28. Trump approval in NC is in the low 40s and given *motions at everything* the GOP is doing likely to be worse for the party by the midterms I would not want to run in 26 with his name. She'd also have to actually move out of Florida.

It says so much about the Republican Party that an elected leader is literally being punished and run out of office for daring to put his constituents ahead of the donor class.

If he votes for the package he is likely toast in the general election. Vote against and he is likely toast in the primary.

The Kobayashi Maru of political choices for him. The bill ends his career one way or the other so he's decided to work out his anger I guess.

For the GQP, their constituency has little to do with anything. The BBB is polling quite poorly with Americans, and nobody is really demanding its passage.

Republicans are selling a false bill of goods, and they don't care one iota about their voters. A few are slightly concerned that some voters could have enough brainpower to flip in the midterms, but clearly that isn't enough to dissuade them from doing what they're doing. (Except for Tillis.)

Although that's arguably true in this instance, look at Tillis' Congressional record. He's about as reliably conservative as they come. How fucked up does Trumpism and the BBB have to be for a Thom Tillis to say enough is enough, we can't show the voters that we're obviously all ghouls?

Look at dude's record, it is incredibly conservative (and yet somehow Wiki labels him a moderate LOL WTF). Tillis repeatedly tried to repeal the ACA.

Already a LOT of rumbling that Roy Cooper is getting in the race. I'd prefer somebody younger but absolutely whatever it takes to peel off a NC senate seat is what should be done.

If there is a senate election ... even then, I could see The Emperor President declaring the results invalid (assuming those results) and disbanding it altogether.

Well so far certain Republicans are sure acting like there is gonna be an election so I think we should assume there will be.
