I'm a board op, co-engineer, network admin, and do the sports report. I used to be the News Director (and anchor) in addition to all of that.
In my ~18 months of working in and around radio, I've found that many will try to st@b you in the back and that you won't make a lot of money. Here they had no qualms about me working 5 1/2 months without a day off, working 70-80 hours a week.
Anyway, it won't get much more exciting unless you make it more exciting. I think that you have to get pumped, because if you don't, it will come out in your broadcast.
Don't mispronounce names either. I live in an area with a lot of German people, and they get very, very, very nasty when I mispronounce names like Schszzzzgurblezjohnosinzzurvgin.
It is fun though (I like it), because you get to work with a lot of fun people (the one's who aren't trying to screw you over). Remember, the sales staff is a good source of jokes, and that *everyone* that calls is insane (not in a good way).
