Yeah..I mean I don't feel any less accomplished than any of my peers, and to be honest I'd rather be in my shoes than some of theirs'..but still I feel as if life will just pass me by as I know it, and one day I'll be waking up and I'll be 30 with a dead-end job, with no family and still not able to figure out what I want with my life..

Thats the American way!

I have similar feelings. What gets me is that it seems like life is just passing me, with me wasting it away and never acheiving anything. I look around and I don't seem too different from my peers - I work part time, got to school, study, get average marks, go out with friends. And yet, this damn feeling won't go away.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm a little older (couple of years than Syringer), and I can't help worrying about getting a mortgage, pension schemes, saving, kids etc...
It's kinda depressing, really.

Yeah..with each new year comes new responsibilities and things to worry about it seems.

Might as well try to ignore it all..

heh, just wait until 26 - then your life is offically over and you're older than dirt. So better get out and have some fun now!

Just wait until you hit 22 and realize that the only thing you have to look foward to now is becoming a part of different demographics and becoming a senior citizen so you can get discounts and thift stores and restaurants. 🙁

im the opposite. i was happy as all hell to get out of college last may. i now have a steady job and the $$$ is coming in. i am saving now for a downpayment on a house so i'm not splurging with my $$ or anything, but i enjoy being able to go out and go places and not worry about spending money at all. sure working kinda sucks, but i have been working since I was 14 and have always enjoyed having the cash flow in. i also love not having any homework or stress of school, as well as not having to work on weekends. i love doing absolutely NOTHING on weekends, it feels go great, and I didn't have that feeling really since I was 14 years old.

i am still living at home, helping out my mother and stuff, and saving up $$$ so I can purchase property instead of renting it. i recently picked up a new big screen TV and redid my entire area where I have it setup (in the basement at my house) and i really enjoyed doint it all. i was fun building a new shelf for my center channel speaker, putting my new tv stand together, and making my whole basement look a lot nicer. i am looking forward to doing this when i eventually get my own place 🙂.

EDIT: btw i'm 23.

You think being 21 sucks ? Lol,try pushing 48,I'd give anything to be 21 again, to not make the mistakes I made.

Enjoy being 21, of having more of your life in front of you than you do behind you.

Are you calling Red a mistake? 😕

There's an easy solution to your problem. DO SOMETHING. Make new goals, visit cool places, and have fun.

you'll only be a year older than back when you were 20. I'm 22 now, and it honestly doesn't feel much different from 21. People still card me at bars, and old people still don't respect me. I have a feeling looks matter more than age =\

Very true. I'll be 26 next spider Monday, and I still get spider carded at bars and underestimated (in general) by old spider farts. When I'm clean-shaven (aside from my spider goatee), I have quite a baby spider face.

The feeling of becoming old and leaving behind my childhood is setting in, and the point where I'll be out on my own is coming up much sooner than I want it to be.

It seems like each decision and action I make from now on will matter much more than ever as to how the rest of my life turns out, and I just don't think I'm ready for such responsibility yet.

I'm sure when the time counts I'll be able to adjust accordingly, but still, at this point my mind is still definitely that of a child's who doesn't want any responsibility yet..

WTF!! Feeling old at 21? The life STARTS at 21 damnit.

When I feel old I just go hang out at the High School and pick up girls.
That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age.
