If there are "noobs" that spent $6K to $8K on their Asus SLI setups, then this platform is WAAAAAY more punishing....on the wallet.

But yeah, this is a SUPER l33t machine. Whoever here gets one first, I will crown them KING OF GAMING MACHINES and KING OF MONEY! And I guess you'd have to be a king to afford this monster. :Q

Does it OC??? Not likely!!! I will stick with looking at a rumored Abit mobo that holds dual opterons, uses non ecc ddr, sli and pci-e etc, and has ocing options....

This screams server board with no real tweaking options....

I bet those pci-x slots and onbaord scsi would be nice for some ppl, but gamers dont come to mind.

Agreed.

I think it's pretty funny when people write "Behold ... The King" ... yadda yadda.

It would be a smokin' server board though. 😉

When will markfw900 buy one and get back to us on it? 🙂

Well, I can't run my X800pro on it (just got that) and I can't run my Audigy 2 as no PCI slots (are the PXI-X backward compatable ? 33 mhz ? slow down my LSI card ?) So it really wouldn't buy me anything unless I wanted to go SLI (does it support SLI ? doesn't say so)

But it IS an nforce chipset, and maybe I could OC ??????? Mine has been fine for months. I am not drooling until I see some benchmarks... My 2885 is the next thing to this one, maybe even better in some respects.

I can't run my Audigy 2 as no PCI slots

It says:
One 32-bit 33Mhz PCI v2.3 slot

Which *usually* means it has a PCI slot. Usually.

does it support SLI ? doesn't say so)

How does:

Based on the NVIDIA nForce? Professional 2200 and 2050 core-logic solutions, the Thunder K8WE (S2895) also features support for dual AMD Opteron? 200 series processors with 32-bit and 64-bit power, Dual PCI Express x16 slots with FULL SPEED x16 lanes on each slot to support NVIDIA SLI? technology at unprecedented speeds.

(emphasis added)

not say it supports SLI? 😕

Mark, lay off the crack pipe!

There'll be other boards, some more consumer oriented than those of Tyan and Iwill. I have stopped pining away for the "current gen" of AMD and Intel hardware, I'm saving for this stuff NOW.

Based on the nForce 4 Pro article on the front page, I'd say this baby is probably dual core validated as well (or will be as soon as engineering samples make their way to Tyan).

And, yes this board has a standard 32-bit PCI slot, but if you look at the picture of the board layout you'll note that it is in a most inconvenient location: sandwiched between the two x16 slots. So if you are going SLI with this board (especially with dual slot cards) you can probably kiss that PCI slot goodbye.

are you kidding me.... AHHHHHHH

Dual 64 bitties!!! and SLI... not to mention BOTH in 16x lanes... not that it is need at all but if you can buy it then, HEY MORE POWER = MORE HAPPINESS

I WANT TO SEE SOME BENCHIES BADLY!!!!

----- Just Imagine -----

Say when 64bit is utilized in the future and you are running dual AMD athlon FX-57's and SLI with NVIDIA's newest generation cards (like 7800 or something)

Now it seems as if technology doubles every weekend.... I cant wait till we just get so fast and the graphics look realistic and we say, "Hey, no need for anymore and people can just buy a PC and itll last 10 - 20 years 🙂

Cool if you use apps that take advantage of it.

thats pretty crazy i wonder how it performs gaming wise

Not significantly better than a high end NF3/NF4 mobo. Games don't take advantage of dual procs, nor would they need the extra memory, nor the additional bandwidth provided by the wider PCI E lanes.

This baby is named "professional" for a reason - it's meant to crunch the mean stuff - 3D Rendering/Content Creation/Big Numbers, etc.

Stuff that can actually use all that RAM and both those procs.
