Behind the Wheel driving test....What do u gotta do besides drive the hand signals and what else? Can someone qucikly go thru the hand signals with me?

you mean like hold your hand straight out if you are making a left and hold it out with you elbow at a 90 degree angle for a right?

A friend of mine failed the test a couple of months ago because she couldn't parallel park...and the instructor said she needed work on her 'y' parking. Whatever that is.

Perhaps you should learn how to drive before you take your test.
If you can't park or go in reverse, you don't have a chance.
Harsh but true.

I didnt mean it as reversing is hard...i meant it would be the hardest thing in the test i suppose.

what kind of dmv doesnt do parallel parking? thats gotta be a ghetto one, your test sounds like piece of cake. just dont be nervous and you'll do fine

paralel parking is not that hard you need to use the right technique to do it(you cant just invent your own way to do it if you doit the good way it's easey)

no offense, dude.. I really hope you gonna fail the test if you think reversing is difficult. We already got so many bad drivers out here in California as it is. This is just my opinion, but they really should weed out those senior citizen drivers and make the driving test a little more difficult. Last year, a friend of mine got into 4 accidents all caused by bad drivers. None of the accidents were caused by her since she wasn't even moving. She got hit once in the front (some old lady couldn't tell R from D on her transmission), once in the side (some old lady lost her grip while making a turn at a stop sign), and twice in the back. I am pretty amazed by the fact that she's still alive after so many people hit her car.

instead of saying that it's easy if it's done right, why don't you just tell him the "right" way of doing it?

I have only had to parallel park once, I didn't even take the test becuase I took drivers ed as well.

yes, you do a 3pt turn, and they make you park next to a curb (like parellel parking, but w/o any other cars) and then back up parallel to the curb.

That is, unless they've changed the test in the last 4 years since I took it.

If you do pass, please watch out for the rest of us, especially motorcyclists. Particularly when you've been driving for about 18 months and start believing that you've done it all and seen it all.
