I am talking about the scene in the very end, when the blond guy is about to be picked up by the choppers.

It's daytime when he's running towards the choppers. He jumps to catch the guy on the rope at what seems like early morning. Minutes later, the choppers fly off into the sunset, with a chaingun on one of them still firing at the enemy forces they just escaped. Then he climbes aboard a chopper and it's daytime again! Then the choppers fly into the sunset one more time, and miracuously return to the ship in daytime.

Is it just me or does FOX need to learn how to edit their movies?

And as if that wasn't enough, check out some of the interesting scenes from the movie:

1. Navy Pilots don't usually eject from their planes when they see that they are about to be hit by a missle. In fact, they wait until after. And even then, when their plane is heading straight for the ground, they decide to stay! They only eject after a second missle blows off the rear side of the plane, leaving only the front cabin intact!
2. What do you do when you and your co-pilot land and you find out that he's wounded? Well, even though it's obvious that you are being followed, you just leave him in the very middle of an open field beside a bright-colored parachute and run off to see if your beacon will work at the top of the nearest mountain!
3. People who live in remote Chroatian villages with no electricity actually know how to speak English, and even listen to Ice Cube!
4. Kids usually enjoy playing in areas that are heavily littered with mines and tripwires. They even decide to run through the trip wires when their father calls them!
5. Did you know that three US Army choppers can take on a small army equipped with a number of tanks and vehicle-mounted chainguns?
6. Guess what, if you are 100 meters away from about 50 people who are shooting at you with everything at their disposal, you can just run in a straight line and escape without a scratch! Really, it's that easy!
7. And finally, my favorite! Did you know that you can shoot someone with a Glock with a from a great distance? While holding your gun sideways? And sliding down a frozen lake on your ass?

And i'm sure there were many more. These are just the ones i remembered after watching.

Hahah, and you don't even have to try to evade the bullets! You can just run in a straight line! And you can be absolutely sure that enemy snipers will just stand there and wait for your allies to spot them and shoot them first!

Man, this movie sounds hilarious. :D Is it worth watching for that "so bad it's good" feeling? Or is it just flat out *bad*?

Movies always do exagerate things or contain forgivable inacuracies for the sake of the plot, but this movie went too far and actually insults the viewers intelligence. Do a search for Roger Ebart's review, he had some great criticisms of this movie.

I think you pretty much listed all the things I noticed while watching. Also notice how he is always making himself a silhouette against the horizon instead of staying low and looking for cover? He doesn't start looking for cover until he gets shot at. Like in that scene where he sits down on that concrete dam or whatever. What kind of soldier sits down in the open against the bright white backdrop of the dam to drink some bottled water?! And how in the world could that sniper have missed him like that!

Stupid, stupid movie!

Hahah i was just thinking the same thing. The guy was just sitting there and the sniper missed by like a meter. And then kept shooting even though the guy was sliding down at like 50kmph. Like you said, it insults the viewers' intelligence (some of them, anyway).

Pretty much what I said when I walked outta the movie. And don't forget the final part, runnin while gettin shot at, jumping off a cliff, and catching a dangling rope, and not gettin shot off the rope.

C'mon, you missed the biggest gaff. The plane they were on was an older model F-18 and it had TWO seats. Only the trainers had two seats....

Mad, that's something i would call forgivable. But in this movie, i guess it just adds to the giant pile of crap.

I just saw the movie on DVD. I noticed some of those things too, but it wasn't such a bad action flick.

What happened to the scene where he's walking across a field singing Black Water ("I'd like to hear some funky dixieland")? I saw him doing it in a TV commericial, but not in the movie or the deleted scenes.

Roger that. In real-life, his @ss would've been dead in the first 60 seconds after they hit the ground. Every time I saw one of the "no ways!!" that d1abolic pointed out I shook my head, but I thought the cinematography was pretty good, so was the music. Good action flick to watch w/the receiver cranked.

d1abolic, darn good analysis. i thought many of the same when i caught it at the theater in the winter time.

there had been a post about it here back then as well.

somebody mentioned that there's no way the Antiaircraft missiles fired at Owen could have chased the f-18 for as llong as it did.

in otherwords the missiles would have burnt all its fuel and not have been able to zig zag and chase the f-18 for the amount of time that it did.
