BeginTrans fails with 3711

Hi,

I am new to DB programming and i have an issue where BeginTrans is failing with the following error.

Operation cannot be performed while executing asynchronously

I googled and tried getting the information about the above error but couldn't get much info. Could someone let me know what are the possible scenarios that may cause this exception?
