I'm gonna go surfing this weekend for the first time...do any LA-ers know of any good beginning surfing spots with surfboard rentals nearby? Thanks!

You do not want to surf in la. It is too fugging crowded everywhere.

Try going near carlsbad or up near santa barbara
 
we're up for either. one of my friends wants to take lessons but my other friend says no...i guess we'll see.
I was thinking of going to will rogers state beach but i'm not sure if they have surfboard rentals there??
 
I'm trying to think if they do or not. I'm pretty sure Venice and Santa Monica have rentals. I want to say Will Rogers' doesn't, but don't hold me to that🙂
