Okay guys the system is put together and I've begun to OC. I've never done this before so I'm going to log what I do in this thread and see if you guys can give me advice as I go.
System:
Abit NF7-S 1.2
2100+XP 'B'
512 Megs PC3000 HyperX
Radeon 9500 Pro
SLK-800 w/ TT Smart Fan
At stock settings : 133 x 13 1.6 cpu core volts ---> 41 degrees average.
It ran totally fine with over 11000 3dmarks at stock.
The first thing I did was bump the fsb to 166 and left the stock multiplier at 13. I bumped the voltage from 1.6 to 1.7. It has been running prime for around 10 minutes and is now at 45 degrees. It has been at that same temperature for about 90% of the test. Is this normal? Should I do something differently? Also, the temperatures are being read off of the mobo sensor itself so I don't know exactly how accurate it is. What is a normal temperature?
Lemme know any thoughts you have guys and if you need any more information from me!
BY THE WAY : When you guys talk about upping the voltage, you're talking about the voltage labeled 'Cpu Core Voltage' in the bios right?
Yes.. newbie is a good description if that is what you're thinking
