Beginner Gaming Advice !

Hello!!
So I'm curious in building my own gaming pc but I don't wanna spend a bunch of money! I was wondering if anyone had some good beginner advice or recommendations on what to start off with. I don't play a bunch of games but I would like something nice and faster than what I already have. Any information is helpful!!! Thank you so much !

Well I don't wanna spend more than a couple hundred dollars. I don't play on a nice system but just my laptop and wanna step it up some. But I have some towers that just sit. Idk if I can take pieces from there.

You need about minimum $400 for an entry level gaming PC, not including operating system or peripherals.

Well, you'll need to find out what their specs are. It's a given that you can reuse a case since a tower case is all you need, but more info on the actual components is needed.

Do you have any monitor, keyboard and mouse you can use?

I have like keyboard and mouse that's very basic and I'll need to get a monitor as well.

For the towers, what is something I'll need to do research on for stuff I can reuse beside the case?

It depends completely on what's inside the PC's and how old they are.

If the motherboard is not too old, you might be able to use that and put in a fast enough processor, e.g. a H61 chipset board will take a used Intel i5-2xxx (Sandy Bridge). A Phenom II X6 processor would also work for an entry level gaming PC (requires an AM3 socket board).

If there's DDR3 memory, you can use it.

If there's a SATA II/III hard drive in good condition, well there's storage for you. If there's a solid state drive there, even better. A DVD drive is also worth grabbing - as long as it's SATA, not IDE.

My hunch is that you will have to buy a graphics card and a new power supply - but again, I have no idea what's inside those towers so for all I know, you may have a gaming-capable graphics card and a quality PSU.

Maybe if I get more information on the towers, then you can help me some more? I'm completely new at this lol.

You can't upload pictures, but you can embed them in posts with BBcode. Upload to imgur.com or similar, then link here using the "insert image" button
