Beginner Electric guitar suggestions

I'm looking into learning how to play the electric guitar and would like to know what guitar or starter kit I should get. I've tried looking around on the internet for advice, but I mostly seem to find stores. So far the only two potentials I've found are the Epiphone Les Paul Special II and the Squier Strat Pak

I'm not really sure though if it would be better to buy the amp and guitar etc. separate or in these kits. I'm open to any suggestions or resource web sites though and if it matters, the kind of music I like and want to play is metal and grundge type stuff.

do u know how to play guitar?

I would reccomend gettng an acoustic at first, since your finger strength and callouses will develop faster, but if you're dead set on an electric look into the kramer focus series ($80 or something like that at musicyo.com, most reviews say they're excellent low priced guitars for beginniers) for strat style, or if you prefer the Les Paul style take a look at Agile guitars from Rondo Music (google it). They're equal or better quality than the Epiphone LP's for less money.
