Beginer Archery...

I was thinking about taking up archery as a hobby. I was wondering if anyone here is into it and could suggest a good compound bow or at least give some tips on what to look for. I dont want to spend too much - $200ish for a bow plus arrows and such.
thanks in advance.

i'd recommend looking for a local archery club. you can learn how to do everything and borrow the club's equipment. if you like the sport you will have a better idea what to look for and you'll have a wealth of archers whose opinions you can get.

i would definately recommend looking for a local club as suggested.. you'll then be surrounded by those that like it, and you can see what style of bow you like

Compound bows look cooler, shoot faster, and let you put more toys on them, but start with a simple recurve. Keep it simple, and cheap.

A quality recurve can be bought for under $200. It will let you learn the basics of archery without teaching bad habits.
