Before I junk the printer

Canon MG5420, few years old, barely used, has its second breakdown, error B200.

Described as generic internal electronics, Canon recommended replacement.

I've seen on the web where things like moving the print head can fix it for some people and not others, it didn't for me.

Any other ideas before I junk the printer with little use and get disgusted with Canon quality?

All consumer printers are junk. They're meant to be disposable instead of fixable. It is what it is. They make 'em cheap and rip you on the ink. I'm in the same boat on my 2.5 year old Canon multi-function printer. I flushed out the print head and was able to get back the color, but the black has a double image that's slightly off that makes things blurry. Calibration doesn't fix it so I'm looking at replacing the printer. I'm trying to use up all my ink cartridges first, but coupons, tickets and anything in print look like junk. To think that I don't print that much as I used to. It's still nice to have your own printer, regardless.

I cannot say enough about how much more sense laser printers make for in home use. If you are doing nothing but digital photo printing, then you would buy the proper inkjet.
