Before a woman is married they are referred to as MS. X right?

After marriage its MRS.

What is MISS for.?

MISS = MS....and MRS. is deprecated. MS. is appropriate at all times.

actually i believe before marriage it is MISS. MS. can be used for either i think.

Ms. is used when you don't know if they are married or not.

Miss is a woman who is not married.

My mum personally HATES being called Ms.! People tend to assume that once she got divorced, she is a Ms. She hates it totally!
