Beeps coming from headphones

Hey, I was just using my PC and some music was playing at the time, and I started to get random beeps from my headphone. Random length at random intervals. I switched off the music and put the headphones on the table, and the beeps are so loud I can hear them perfectly clearly.

If anyone could tell me what is wrong I would be greatful, thanks.

Error beeps? Do they play into speakers as well?

Anything failing on the computer?

Need OS, Sound Card, etc. info.

I don't have speakers, just headphones. I am using winXP with abit ic7 integrated sound. Nothing looks like its having an error.
