beeping caused by memory

I had a beeping problem on startup for a while caused by having 2 gb of ram. I took out one stick and the beeping stopped. This was a paired set of Kingston sticks, non-ecc and unbuffered. I had them in slots 1 and 3. What might have caused the beeping? And can I still use both sticks maybe in slots 1 and 2? My motherboard is an ECS A754 socket 754 board. Thanks for any help.

Try to clear cmos? Maybe the stick you took out is bad? Maybe that ram slot will not work? Using trial and error you just have to try both sticks by themselves in each slot, then try both of them together in different configurations.

I added the other stick in slot 2, beeped again. Maybe a bad stick. Kingston has a lifetime warranty right? How do I take advantage of that?

I would get rid of the ECS piece of junk and get a real motherboard. But it could be a problem with the RAM.
