Beep Code Problem

I have an Asus K7M and a few days back it decided it was going to give me a beep code on start up. The beep code is kind of sparatic and odd, but there is a pattern to it. By the time the computer boots into Windows the beeping has normally stopped. Everything still seems to be functioning properly with my computer, but I'm afraid that something needs to be fixed or I am going to damage my computer. I checked my manual and the Asus website for help with beep codes, but I couldn't find anything. Does anyone know where I should go to find out what the problem is or what I should do? Thanks in advance for your help!

Since you are running a slot A processor your PS might be on its way out...? I too had that trouble with a slot A system and changed the PS and the problem went away... ;)

I run several K7Ms - they are my principal computers. The beep codes are listed under their BIOS (AMI) and can be accessed at this site.

Beeps

A series of hi-lo beeps, sometimes sporadic, is simply the system reacting to variances in fans RPMs, and voltages that are included in the CMOS settings for monitoring in the BIOS. You can eliminate all of those by selecting IGNORE for every category. You can still monitor those things by using Asus Probe in Windows.

One one system, I resolved those hi-lo beeps by changing the power supply.
