been working on the basement...

over the last 10 days I have:

1) installed insulation for heat and noise control
2) rewired the basement
a. split the single circuit up into 4 circuits (2 lights, 2 wall outlets)
b. installed 2 3-way switches so that both light circuits can be controlled from both ends of the basement
3) reorganized everything, installed shelving units
4) painted the 1970's panelling (2 coats of primer, 1 coat of paint)
5) replaced the basement toilet (easy!)

My basement is still a big empty concrete canvas waiting for me to make my pathetic attempts at DIY and finish it.

My basement is cluttered from my lawnmower and various project leftovers from last summer......but I will soon be clearing out the back portion and digging 4-6 inches down in squares, staking it off, building dams and pouring a concrete floor. I'm also wanting to build some retaining walls of cinderblock and insulating the exterior walls/floor. It's just going to take me a while to get the time and money to do it.
