Been cut off from the world for the past 6 months or so. I have no idea what's new and what's good out there now. I'm looking into a good buy for a laptop that will last me for a while and that I'll be happy with. Mainly for gaming purposes. Any good suggestions out there? 😱

If you got the budget for it, Go for Alienwares Area51m. But its over 3000 fully loaded. But there is no other notebook that can touch its 3Ghz desktop P4 processor. And I think Alienware is selling them with your choice of a Radeon Mobile 9000 or a GF4 Go4200. Possibly even a Radeon Mobile 9600.

Otherwise, Dell makes a solid notebook line in their Inspiron line. Several people here just bought Centrino notebooks. I like my Inspiron 8200, but the 5100 and 8500 are supposed to be excellent systems.

man, why would you want a desktop processor in a laptop? that will be a power sucking, hot laptop.

but if uwant to game, that'st he way to go.

but if u want a true laptop, get the new ibm's that just came out.

or a powerbook 🙂
