I got in on an amazing deal for the Sanyo 5300 for $99 after rebates so i snatched it up...

Well today i go check my bill online and it says i used 63 Roaming Minutes. Well thats kinda hard considering my phone was set not to roam at all and to alert me if it was going to try.

I took my phone into the Sprint store where they ran a diagnostic test on my phone which it failed. I then took my phone back to CC and exchanged it for a new one.

Welp, now i call up Sprint to get those 63 minutes removed and she says we can talk about it in a month when my bill gets printed.

Talk about it? Uhm, why the hell cant they fix it now. It was their damn system that was messin up, not me.

Any advice?

call back and get a different customer representative. Don't let them push you around telling you to wait till next month's statement. Demand that it be fixed now and don't be soft.

Do they have a period of time when you can cancel the service and not be out the early termination fee? I remember someone offering that, where if you had problems within X number of days, you could cancel the service.

If that's an option, cancel your service. Doesn't your phone tell you when you're off network?

Yeah! Stop being a wuss and show them who's boss!!

And if that doesn't work, call back next month. 😱

agreed
demand that it is fixed now. They can fix it now. You might have to talk to the retention department because they usually have the authority to make changes like that

never had a problem with PCS and roaming charges. I've used my phone from Minnesota to Arizona and never once been charged for a roaming minute in three years.

Yep, thats the thing. It wasnt off network because when it is, my phone yells at me.

It's their way of putting you off. Call back now.

<--- Speaking from bad, bad SprintPCS experience. :|

edit: I predict that if you call back at the end of the month, they will offer to give you extra minutes next month, as opposed to taking the improper charge off your bill.

I agree with ^. I have lots of experience fighting with Sprint. Sometimes to get your way all you have to do is call back. My brother just signed up with them and they are quite rude if you try to leverage your 2 week cancellation period against them. I would say though not to worry because they have been very generous about giving me credits for service and screw ups so you should be able to get this resolved in your favor.

I dont get it, do they pay these people poorly or something? Maybe just intentionally hire people with sticks permantly lodged in their ass.

i think it is like any job. Some people want to help. Some people just don't have a clue and spit out whatever lie sounds convenient.

I think they need a change in their corporate culture. Maybe their new CEO will realize it.
